Accounting, tax and advisory for owner-managed companies across Canada

The books, the filings and the answers, for one fixed monthly fee.

The books are kept current every month. A CPA checks the work and files what has to be filed. You see all of it in your portal.

Engaged together or separately. Every engagement has its own letter, and nothing is billed that nobody asked for. The firm works with companies across Canada outside Quebec.

  1. i.

    Live between closes

The numbers update as the books do. Live figures and closed, checked ones are labelled differently.

  2. ii.

    Every filing in one place

Statements, T1, T2 and GST returns, and CRA correspondence — with the deadline in front of it, not behind it.

  3. iii.

    Your CRA accounts, current

Balances, filings and deadlines across your business and payroll accounts.

  4. iv.

    Budgets, forecasts and KPIs

An FP&A tab: budget against actuals, a rolling forecast, and the unit economics behind the margin.

  5. v.

    Your ledger stays yours

QuickBooks or Xero, in your name. The portal reads it, and you can leave with your data whenever you like.

  6. vi.

    Free for every client

No portal fee and no seat count. It comes with the engagement, for as long as you are a client.

§ 3

Prices, published

Two layers, each priced on its own. Pick your books, add your filings, or take either alone.

Layer 1 — Books. Kept current every month; a CPA checks the work.

T4s and the T4 Summary at year end are included wherever payroll is bought; ROEs are $75 each. One-time setup, $300. On Books Basic, payroll is an add-on at $225 a month for up to 5 people. Books Standard includes payroll for up to 5 people and Books Plus for up to 15; beyond those, $15 a month per person.

Layer 2 — Compliance. Done by a CPA. Add it to any Books tier.

§ 4

How an engagement runs

  1. 01

    A call, and a number

Thirty minutes on the business and where the books stand today. The call ends with a recommended scope and a price, not a proposal three days later.

  2. 02

    The file is taken over

Books migrated, QuickBooks or Xero connected, the prior year checked, and the handover with the outgoing accountant handled here. Whatever is wrong surfaces before it becomes a problem.

  3. 03

A close that lands on a date

Every month, on a fixed day: statements, a dashboard, and a short note on what changed and why. In the portal, not buried in an inbox.

  4. 04

The hard things, as they arrive

A CRA letter, a lender's diligence request, a board deck, an acquisition — handled by the firm that already knows the numbers.

In build

One view of the whole structure.

Most owner-managers cannot answer “what am I actually worth” without an afternoon and three logins. The operating company, the holdco, the family trust, the house and the rentals all sit in different places, and the hard parts — retained earnings, shareholder loans, the deferred tax inside the corporate structure — are judgement calls rather than account balances.

The software built for this starts around a thousand dollars a month and is sold to family offices. We are building the version for the rest of us, inside the portal you already have.

Be told when it ships

One email, when it is actually live. No newsletter, no drip sequence.

Thirty minutes, a scope and a number.

The call ends with a recommended scope and what it would cost, not a proposal three days later. By video or phone, anywhere in Canada.
