Plum Accounting (“Plum”, “we”, “us”) provides bookkeeping, payroll, tax and advisory services to businesses across Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
We send marketing emails only with your consent, and every one includes a way to unsubscribe. We never sell your personal information.
If you submit a lead form in one of our ads, Meta passes us the information you entered so we can contact you about the service you asked about. Meta’s own handling of your information is covered by Meta’s Privacy Policy.
Only with service providers who help us run the business, such as our email, scheduling, cloud hosting and payment providers, and only as needed for them to do that work. We may also disclose information where the law requires it. Some providers may store data outside Canada, in which case it is subject to the laws of that country.
Our client portal uses an artificial intelligence service to read documents you upload, so that the figures in them can be picked up without being typed in by hand. A document is sent to that provider for that purpose and no other, it is not used to train anyone’s models, and that provider operates outside Canada.
Enquiries that don’t become engagements are deleted within 24 months. Client records are kept as long as professional and tax rules require, then securely destroyed.
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent for marketing, by emailing shane@plumaccounting.ca. We reply within 30 days.
